Oncology massage is an approach to massage therapy based on both compassion and specialized massage treatments to help people manage their experience with cancer. Benefits include improved relaxation, sleep, and immune function as well as relieving anxiety, pain, fatigue and nausea.

Oncology massage is different from Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (MLD). MLD is a technique developed in Germany for treatment of lymphedema, an accumulation of fluid that can occur after lymph nodes are removed during surgery, most often a mastectomy for breast cancer. When you sign up for a session, you may pick one or both (you may combine treatments), or Julia will advise you which treatment would be most beneficial for you that day if you aren’t sure.  Julia can also show you stretches to do to increase ROM and decrease pain.

Note: if this is your first visit and you would like to register as a guest, please call our office to set up your brief intake appointment so that you can take advantage of this and all our free classes, workshops and lectures!

By appointment only.  Be sure to advise our staff when making your appointment if you are currently in treatment.
